Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the relationship between you and Hairspring when you use our website or bring a watch to us for service. Please read them carefully. By contacting us, submitting an enquiry, or leaving a watch in our care, you agree to these terms.
1. Definitions
"Hairspring" / "we" / "us" — the watch repair and servicing workshop at 73 Sri Chan Road, Nai Muang, Muang, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand.
"You" / "customer" — any person who visits this website, submits an enquiry, or entrusts a watch to Hairspring for service.
"Service" — any watch repair, cleaning, overhaul, refinishing, or related work carried out by Hairspring.
"Watch" / "item" — any timepiece, movement, case, bracelet, strap, or component brought to us by you.
"Agreement" — these Terms & Conditions, together with any service quotation we provide and your acceptance of it.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry through our website or by leaving a watch with us, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement, and accept these terms. If you are acting on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
3. Services We Offer
Hairspring provides three service options:
- Everyday Service & Clean — cleaning, lubrication, gasket check, and accuracy adjustment. Suitable for watches in regular use. Priced at ฿3,600.
- Strap, Bracelet & Case Refresh — case and bracelet refinishing with new strap fitting. Priced at ฿12,800.
- Keepsake Overhaul & Documentation — complete overhaul with conservative refinishing and full written and photographic documentation. Starting from ฿32,900, with each stage costed and agreed before work begins.
Services are available to customers in Thailand. We reserve the right to decline service if a watch falls outside the scope of our capabilities or if the risk of damage in attempting the work is, in our assessment, unreasonably high.
4. Quotation and Agreement to Proceed
Before work begins on any item, we will discuss the scope and cost with you. For the Keepsake Overhaul service, we provide a staged breakdown and will not proceed to a subsequent stage without your agreement. A quoted price may be revised only if unforeseen complications are discovered, and we will inform you before incurring additional costs. Work will not begin until you have agreed to the quoted scope and price.
5. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for ensuring that the watch belongs to you or that you have authority to authorise work on it.
- Please inform us of any known fragility, prior repairs, or unusual characteristics of the item before we assess it.
- You are responsible for collecting your item within 60 days of being notified that it is ready. After this period, a storage fee may apply.
- Contact details you provide must be accurate so that we can reach you during the service process.
6. Payment
Payment is due on collection of the completed item, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash and bank transfer in Thai Baht (฿). We do not accept part-payment arrangements unless discussed and confirmed before work begins. If an item is not collected and payment is not made within 90 days of completion, we reserve the right to address the situation in accordance with applicable Thai law.
7. Care of Your Item
We handle all items with care and will document their condition on receipt. While we take reasonable precautions, watchmaking involves inherent risk, particularly with aged or fragile pieces. We will inform you of any risks before proceeding. We are not liable for pre-existing faults, hidden damage, or deterioration that occurs as a natural consequence of the service requested.
8. Disclaimers
Our services are provided on the basis of professional skill and care, not on the basis of any assured outcome. We do not make promises about specific accuracy figures, water resistance ratings, or longevity of results. Each watch is different, and the outcome of service depends on factors including the age, condition, and original manufacture of the piece.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability to you is limited to the cost of the service provided. We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of sentimental value, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence causing damage to your property where that negligence is established.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, and design — belongs to Hairspring or its licensors. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of this website without our written consent. Documentation and photographs we produce during the Keepsake Overhaul service are provided to you for your personal use.
11. Cancellation
You may cancel a service before work begins without charge. Once work has started, you will be responsible for the cost of work completed to that point. Cancellations should be made by contacting us directly by phone or email.
12. Dispute Resolution
We aim to resolve any concern through direct conversation. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and give us the opportunity to address it. These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Khon Kaen Province.
13. General Provisions
- Entire agreement — these terms, together with any service quotation, form the complete agreement between us.
- Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- No waiver — failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment — you may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
