Khon Kaen, Thailand
A workshop built on patience and precision.
Hairspring has been looking after watches in Khon Kaen for years. We believe the work should be done quietly and done well, with the owner kept informed at every stage.

How Hairspring Came to Be
Hairspring grew from a simple observation: in Khon Kaen, people had watches they valued — pieces from parents, commemorative pieces, reliable daily wears — but nowhere nearby to have them looked at with real care. The options were mail-order services in Bangkok or broad-brush repairs that treated every watch the same.
The workshop opened on Sri Chan Road to fill that gap. From the beginning, we set three rules for ourselves: assess before quoting, cost before touching, and document what we do. These are not particularly novel ideas in good watchmaking — but they are not always followed, and we think they matter.
Over time, customers have trusted us with daily watches, family heirlooms, and sentimental pieces from relatives abroad. Each one gets the same careful intake process, the same written assessment, and the same conversation about what is worth doing and what is not.
We are a small workshop and we prefer it that way. Smaller means we can give proper attention to each piece. It means a customer can speak to the person who actually worked on their watch. And it means we are not pressured into rushing work that benefits from time.
Our Mission
What We Are Here to Do
Honest Assessment
Every piece comes to us first for an honest look. We tell you what we find, in plain language, and what the options are. No pressure to proceed.
Agreed Scope, No Surprises
We cost the work before we begin. If something unexpected appears during the job, we stop and contact you. The final amount matches what was agreed.
Respect for the Object
Watches carry time and sometimes memories. We work with that in mind — preserving character rather than erasing it, and treating every piece with the same attention regardless of its market value.
Open Communication
You can call, write, or come in. We prefer direct conversation and make ourselves available throughout the process so you always know where things stand.

Standards We Follow
Our Working Protocols
Written Intake Assessment
Each piece receives a written condition report at intake, noting the state of the movement, case, crystal, and crown before any work begins.
Timing Measurement
We measure timing rate before and after servicing with a timing machine, and record both figures. You can see the improvement for yourself.
Quality Lubricants Only
We use manufacturer-grade lubricants applied to spec quantities. Incorrect or degraded oil causes more damage over time than no service at all.
Secure Custody
Watches in our care are kept in locked storage when not actively on the bench. We maintain a log of what is in the workshop at all times.
Photographic Documentation
For overhaul work, photographs are taken at each significant stage. These accompany the written record and are given to the customer with the watch.
No Surprises on Billing
The price agreed before work begins is the price charged. If additional work becomes necessary, we contact you first and wait for your decision before proceeding.
About Our Work
Watch Servicing in Khon Kaen
A mechanical watch is a machine built to a very fine tolerance. Inside a case often smaller than a fifty-baht coin, there may be a hundred or more individual parts — wheels, bridges, jewels, springs — each one contributing to an outcome measured in seconds per day. When something goes wrong, it rarely announces itself loudly. More often a watch simply begins losing time, or gaining it, or stopping at intervals that feel random.
Hairspring works with this kind of fault — the quiet kind, the gradual kind, the kind that shows up after a few years of daily wear and is really just the natural result of time passing and oil drying. A good service restores function and, if done carefully, adds many more years of reliable wear without altering anything about the character of the watch.
We also work with the exterior — cases and bracelets accumulate scratches and wear marks that, depending on the owner, may be worth addressing or may be worth leaving as they are. We do not assume either way. We show you what is possible, explain what each option involves, and let you decide what the watch should look like when it leaves.
For pieces with sentimental weight — a grandfather's dress watch, a piece acquired on a special trip, something passed down rather than purchased — we offer a documentation service that records the work in detail. The idea is that the watch carries a written and photographic record of its care forward, available to whoever holds it next.
